Rosetta’s Kitchen in Asheville, N.C.

Rosetta’s Kitchen is one of Asheville’s many vegetarian/vegan restaurants. They serve lunch, dinner, late night and Sunday brunches. Rosetta’s Kitchen has hosted hundreds of benefits, art shows, and musicians. They have fed the homeless, the wealthy, celebrities and everyone in between. The menu consists of a lot of comfort food including chili cheese fries with vegan queso, tempalo wings with vegan ranch, and peanut butter tofu with mashed potatoes. Some other favorites include Tempeh Reuben, Coconut Curry, Pad Thai and tacos.

The atmosphere is very laid back. You order before you sit down. They bring the food to you. You get your own filtered water, napkins, utensils, and condiments. You also bus your table after you are finished. They compost here which is nice so that nothing gets thrown away. There is art on the walls. They also have an open balcony.

We went here a couple of times while we were living in Asheville. The first time I ordered the veggie burger which was really good. I found out later that they sell these veggie burgers frozen in local grocery stores.

Tacos: vegan chorizo, rice, lettuce, salsa, These were okay.

Hearty Chilli: This was very good!

Family Favorite: Peanut Butter baked organic tofu, sauteed kale, and mashed potatoes with gravy. I thought the mashed potatoes were excellent but I didn’t like the kale and tofu. The tofu was too hard and not moist.

yeah! There is some amazing vegan food out there! Especially baked goods. Tonight I am making brownies:) and remember you don’t have to do it all at once. Just try a vegan meal once a week or do meatless Mondays.
